Do not, I repeat DO NOT take your pet to All Pets Medical Center, Smyrna, DE - my sister and I took my mom's 15 year old dog to the Vets. My mom called to see if they could get us in and told the girl on the phone that she thinks the dog is going to need to be put down. When we got there, the clerk asked if we wanted an exam and try to save the dog or if we decided to put the dog down. As hard as it was, my mom said he was in to much pain and said to put her beloved dog out of his misery so within 5 minutes of walking in, they knew what the end result was going to be. No exam, didn't want to know if it was a stroke or not, just there to put the dog out of his misery. TWO and a HALF hours, YES 2 1/2 hours later, we are still sitting in the waiting room while the dog is shaking and scared to death and my sister and myself are having anxiety over what we are about to do and they could care less. FINALLY, when they call us in my sister takes the dog in (I just couldn't) and the Vet comes and give the dog a tranqualizer and tells my sister she will be back shortly - ARE YOU SERIOUS? Unfortunately, I have had to put several pets down and it's been ONE needle, quick and painless and off to Heaven they go.....but no, not here. Then she comes in to give the dog a needle that puts him to sleep and says she will be back in shortly to give him a needle to stop the heart. You have got to be kidding - 3 needles to put this dog to sleep - UNREAL!!! Finally once all is done, she wraps up the dog, puts the dog in the box my sister gave her and hands the box to my sister who almost lost it and she didn't even bother to close the lid of the box but just hand my sister the box with dog staring right at my sister. Putting a beloved pet down is one of the hardest experiences in life but to have to endure what we and the dog had to go through was just heartless, cold, unreal and uncalled for. Never again, will I go back to this Vet - her and her staff are cold and heartless.

I took my cockatiel in with a swollen toe joint. a blood test was offered for routine wellness check. she died having a blood sample taken. bleed out. she had at least five (rather large) needle punctures under her wings. at some point when a procedure is not going well shouldnt the vet just stop, or you just keep sticking? Dr. Woodie's response to me was "she must of been a bleeder" and "i did all i could, i gave her oxygen". Don't you need blood to carry oxygen? When you are stabbed repeatedly with an ice pick and shred the arteria what else could of been the out come? I noticed under her wings was damp. She was nice enough to bath her after her death before I was brought in. She must of been covered in blood. Cleaned up the crime scene. I wondered why I heard a blow dryer from the back. I had that bird for more than ten years and thought of her as one of my kids. This will never heal in me. If you use this vet MAKE SURE you are present at all procedures!!!
