Established in 1845, Society of St. Vincent de Paul has men and women members striving to grow spiritually. The firm offers person-to-person service to individuals in need. Based in Slinger, Wis., it offers tangible assistance in form of intervention, consultation or through direct dollar or in-kind service. An essential precept of the society's work is to provide help while conscientiously maintaining the confidentiality and dignity. Society of St. Vincent de Paul serves around 12 million persons in the United States. It provides a host of services, such as food programs, emergency financial assistance, disaster relief, shelters for the abused/homeless, substance abuse and crime, advocacy, nutritional education and twinning, among others.
