I have used Debra K. Henkels in the past for a number of legal issues, including child custody and for the preparation of wills. She is one of the most professional individuals I have used in dealing with problems that require legal representation. She knows the law and was able to explain it to us so that we were informed as our case moved forward. Ms. Henkels tried to resolve our issues amicably, but the other side was unreasonable, and we had to go to a full custody trial. Ms. Henkels was aggressive and passionate about getting us custody of my husband’s son from a prior marriage. The judge ruled in our favor. The relief we felt cannot be put into words.

Ms. Henkels is honest, works hard on your case and doesn’t waste time. She returned our calls in a timely fashion and provided excellent legal practical advice. Even though it is a stressful time, she is somehow able to make you laugh and put you at ease. I never felt judged.

Debra was a godsend helping me with my child custody case. I was dealing with some pretty extreme allegations just to keep me from seeing my new-born daughter and Debra navigated through that BS and got me results. Debra Henkels is amazing!!!! That's the first thing anyone needs to know. She is extremely professional, always stays on track, and very blunt. You will never feel uncertain with her confidence. She is very caring and I believe gets connected with each case, maybe that's why she is so good at what she does. She takes every case personally, she feels what we- the clients feel. I will recomend Debra Henkels to anyone after a year of court complications and through it all she stuck by my side returned all phone calls and if anything was someone i could trust to give me a good outcome. With the case i had against me she got me a terific deal and if i ever have any problems in the future i will use her again. We hired Ms. Debra Henkels to represent us in a custody case. She was unprofessional and very ineffective. She did not return phone calls and could not provide answers to basic court related questions. We were even told at one time, while asking a legal question, that "you will not talk to me like that." When we had court hearings, she was in the building with other clients but unavailable to us, yet we were billed for her time. At one court hearing, we were scolded by the judge for our attorney not being present after the docket had been called. Ms. Henkels truly made no effort to help win our case and therefore, of course, we did not. She took our money and we did pretty much all the work. She even filed papers with the court after I informed her that the information was incorrect, putting us in a bad light. Also, she informed us, at the hearing, that she had a problem with the judge. That would have been nice to know in the beginning.



I would not recommend Ms. Debra Henkels to anyone at all.
