I am just about ready to stop shopping at this Bi-Lo. I mean, I can usually find most of what I'm looking for, but several years ago I had a REALLY bad experience with one of the baggers - I mean, he made me so angry with an unnecessary comment (about my cell phone, of all things that were none of his business, telling me that my phone "s*cks") that I called the manager after I left. I was so angry I didn't set foot in the place for over a year, but I finally relented and went back. A couple of days ago, I went shopping, and ended up in Bi-Lo. I gathered all of my items and stood for what seemed like forever in the checkout line. It always takes a long time to check out, for some reason. Finally got to the front, and the guy who was checking my groceries (Matt, I think) was pleasant, and there were two guys bagging. One of them noticed that I had used a very small cart and really needed a larger one, and he offered to get one. So far, so good. Matt and the one guy who ended up doing my bagging were talking back and forth, giving each other a hard time, in a joking way. That's fine, I get it, it is good to work with people with whom you can have that kind of relationship. But after my groceries were bagged and I was walking away, I looked down and noticed that one of my most important ingredients had not made it into the bag, and was still sitting at the end of the checkout. I had to back up and grab it from the bagging station. And evidently, I should have looked a little harder and thought a little more, because 2 days later, when I started cooking on Easter Sunday morning, I realized that 2 other ingredients hadn't made their way into my bags, either. I'm all for camaraderie on the job, but come on! I had to make do without all of my ingredients, AND I had been CHARGED for groceries that I didn't get to take home, because these people are just not paying attention! There are other stores less than a mile away. I might just have to go back to those places.
