Area Agency on Aging is located in Sherman, Texas. It is advised by the advisory council on all matters relating to service needs and delivery of services for senior citizens in the local community. Its retired and senior volunteer program provides volunteer opportunities for individuals 55 and above in Cooke, Fannin and Grayson counties in Texas. Its Telepal program provides daily telephone calls to assure the well-being of homebound and isolated persons. Its medication assistance program assists people monthly to access the patient assistance programs with the various pharmaceutical companies that manufacture the drugs using local volunteers. Its foster grandparent program includes senior volunteers offering 20 hours care per week to children at-risk.
