- Dental ExaminationYes, we recommend you come in at least once a year for a comprehensive oral exam so we can look for signs of oral cancer and other oral and medical problems.
- X-raysThere is very little risk associated with dental X-rays. We are very careful to limit the amount of radiation to which your child is exposed.
- Teeth CleaningIt is important to teach your child the importance of dental health and hygiene at an early age to help protect your child from dental problems in the future. Teeth can come in as early as four months of age and should be cleaned daily as soon as the first tooth erupts. Brushing with a soft bristle tooth brush or even swabbing with a wash cloth is essential preventative care. Parents should help their toddlers brush their teeth to ensure the teeth are receiving a complete cleaning. Once your toddler is capable of brushing their teeth independently, we recommend you supervise their brushing to make sure the teeth are being cleaned thoroughly. In addition to teeth cleaning we advise parents not to give your child bottles in bed, and to limit the amount of sugar-rich food and drink that is consumed.
- Fillings
- VeneersWhat are Dental Veneers? Dental veneers are fingernail-thin laminates that can be bonded on teeth to correct either the shape or the color of your natural teeth. They can do this by acting as the teeth's new outer coating. They are also designed to be similar enough to teeth that they can blend with what remains of the structure.
- CrownsUnlike a cavity where a small section of the tooth is filled, a dental/porcelian crown covers the entire surface of the tooth all the way to the gum line. Porcelian crowns help restore your tooth's original shape and strength.
- BridgesThe Argument for Dental Bridges Bridges are alternatives to dentures and dental implants. They are, however, different in the sense that they are usually fitted between healthy teeth to fill in gaps. So what does a bridge consist of? A bridge is designed as a combination of custom-made crowns for the healthy teeth on each side and false teeth to fill in the gaps. You can choose between permanent and removable bridges. Removable bridges are naturally less expensive. They are also easier to make. So, you will be able to use them sooner. They should also be easier to clean as they are removable.
- Dental BondingCosmetic Bonding Do you think your set of teeth is a hopeless case? If your problem consists of chips, cracks or gaps, there is still a solution. At Shenandoah Family Dentistry, a skilled dentist can fill in a tooth-colored material to the cracks or gaps or attach the same material to the chips. Not only do your teeth get the desired shape and look but they also get to achieve your desired shade of white.
