      Dr. Yian Jones specializes in plastic and reconstructive surgery of the face and eyelids. After finishing her residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Iowa, one of the country’s top training programs for eye surgeons, she completed a prestigious fellowship in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the face and eyes with the oculoplastic surgery technique pioneer, Dr. Richard Anderson, at the Center for Facial Appearances in Salt Lake City, Utah. She has numerous publications in peer reviewed journals and has written text book chapters for eye surgery, recently “Eyelids,” in Clinical Eye Atlas, ed. Daniel Gold and Richard Lewis (New York: Oxford University Press, 2011, 2nd edition). Dr. Jones continues to pursue her academic endeavor in private practice as a sub-investigator in numerous FDA clinical trials. She twice traveled to villages in the African countries of Mali and Ghana with a medical team to provide much needed surgical eye care. Dr. Jones grew up in Beijing, China. As a teenager she moved with her family to Salt Lake City. While in medical school she fell in love with Iowa native Dr. Jason Jones. She enjoys bringing her unique skills to help patients look and feel better through functional and cosmetic surgeries as well as nonsurgical treatments.
