My girlfriend has been going to Goodwill for some 50 years. This one is by far her favorite.

recently i took some children's books to the checkout where the clerk immediately pulled the price tags off saying they'd been switched, all hardcover books were $2.99. now i am sure that happens but i don't do that. i questioned her because i'd seen several books priced less than 2.99 on the shelves. so after checking out my other items i returned to the book section and found 6 other books with tags for 1.99 and 1.49 and got back in line. when it was my turn i told the clerk i didn't want to be a pest but here were several other books also under 2.99. she called a supervisor who immediately tore off most of the stickers saying they had all been switched. the customer behind me in line pointed out that one was firmly attached to a paper dust jacket but the girl said, "well i'm sorry ma'am. books are 2.99" in a tone that said she was not the least bit "sorry". why would someone switch all those tags and then leave them on the shelves? i left quietly but felt i was treated very rudely!
