      The Cleveland County Health Department is governed by Cleveland County in North Carolina. The department provides educational and medical services on various family planning-related issues, such as anatomy, abstinence, fertility, sexuality and sexually transmitted diseases. The Cleveland County Health Department operates a general clinic that offers immunization, counseling, hypertension screening and tuberculin skin testing services. The department s maternity clinic provides prenatal care services for pregnant women. It supports the Cleveland County Health Department Health Education Program, as well as conducts the periodical inspection of restaurants, food stands, meat markets, foster homes, licensed day care facilities, lunchrooms and school cafeterias. The department also offers an animal control program.
