Provided by YP.comIn response to the Guinea pig; first I am sorry you felt that the price was too much and that I did not honor the quote. The quote I gave of $240 was correct and was written in the chart at the time of the exam. I also remember saying that if you were not happy with my services or would like to find another vet that would do the procedure for less than that I would understand. You said you would like to continue with our services. I did a thorough exam, checked the teeth, weight, heart/lungs, eyes, ears, feet, hair coat, went over a thorough history and feeding guide as well as discussed the risks of anesthesia for Guinea pigs- all for $40. I am sorry you felt like that wasn't worth your money. Secondly, I took wonderful care of the pig which went through surgery without complications. I am not in this profession because we make so much money. In fact based on the hours we put in and all the free services we give away because clients like to place guilt on us for requiring payment for our services, it comes down to about $20 per hour. Not a lot when your trying to run a business. So please if you are still reading this, understand there are two sides to every review and my care, thoroughness, and honesty throughout this experiences has been heartfelt.

Provided by YP.comAwful service the last time I went there.
I called in a few weeks ago to get an estimate on a neuter for my guinea pig and I also had a few questions about the process. I was told by the assistant that the Doctor was on vacation and only she could answer my questions and to call back when she returns from vacation. I called the following week and finally got Dr. Wallace on the phone. She quoted me $170 for the procedure. Mind you i had already payed $40 for an initial check up that lasted less than 5 minutes so she could make sure the pig was okay for the procedure. Anyway, I scheduled the appointment with her.
Surgery day arrives, I take my guinea pig in and the assistant tells me the procedure was going to be $240. I told her that i was initially quoted $170 she went and got Dr. Wallace. The doctor wanted me to pay this price. I asked her to please honor the quote she had given me over the phone but she refused to do it because she didn't quote it herself??? Whats more frustrating is that they had a chart with my pigs information with the price of $170 circled and signed with the doctors name. Despite of this she did not want to honor the price. Eventually after negotiating with her she decided to bring the price down to $200 but it was still too much. It was a bait and switch tactic that they used on me and I didn't feel like this was right. I kept on insisting that she please honor what she had quoted me and she got an attitude and told me that if I was going to make a big deal out of an extra $30 i should just take my guinea pig somewhere else! Dr. Wallace $30 might not be a big deal to you but it is to me. She continued by saying that patients come in everyday expecting her to do the work for free. I told her that i was paying her a significant amount of money to do this procedure and i would never expect for her to do this for free

Provided by YP.comMonticello Animal Clinic in Shawnee, KS is the best! Dr. Wallis and her staff were the most attentive and caring of our dog that had numerous health issues. He was well cared for during surgery and boarding. He always came home after boarding is a relaxed mood. At other places we went he came home frazzled. We drove 20 miles every time he needed to be looked at or looked after because they took a special interest in our dear pet. I can't say enough. We really miss them now that we have moved from the area.
