I brought my car twice this week with a heater problem and twice they failed to locate and fix the problem. I paid a great deal of money only to drive away in a car that had EXACTLY the same issues as when I brought it in. Refused to refund any money, insisted the problem was fixed. Yeah, right. Unreliable and arrogant. NEVER AGAIN!

Hi John, I sincerely apologize for the lack of customer service that you experienced at our shop. It is disappointing to hear that a dissatisfied customer left the shop with a vehicle that was not repaired. Our intention is to always provide our customers with exceptional service and to send them off in a safe and reliable vehicle. I would like to discuss your visit further, so please call me at 913-631-9995. Thank you, Gary Calvert

I have used Calverts Express twice now because I was sent coupons in the mail. I got an oil change and they fixed my car’s front stabilizers. I have spent a total of about 4 hours in their office and was not impressed with them because I noticed every time anyone came in, they tried to sell them extra services and every time anyone cashed out, they informed them of major issues with their car. The first time I went I was given a quote for $170 worth of work. When I brought my car back to get the stabilizers fixed and to get the wheel bearings looked at, I was told they miss quoted and the work would actually cost $609. When I told them that there was no way I could spend such a large amount on the car right now, they went back to “recheck” it and told me they were actually wrong and the wheel bearings don’t need to be fixed. I got the stabilizers fixed and asked for them to apply a coupon that I had. They forgot and then refused to recharge my card. They said there was no way they could reverse charges after they’ve been run and that they would give me an oil change for free, but I would have to give my email address and the process would take up to a couple of weeks to have the coupon for the oil change mailed to me. I reasoned that it was worth $15 not to have to come back to do business with them again. One of them I spoke with called me back and apologized and offered to hand write a note for a free oil change, but I did not want to put myself in another position where I am told that I have major issues wrong with my car (when there aren’t any). I would prefer use a shop that I can trust and that I don’t feel are gouging my wallet.

The next day I went to get my car inspected and learned that I do in fact have 3 major problems with the car, but none of which were mentioned or brought up while I was at Calvert's. I wonder if their mechanics really know what they are doing.

Calverts Express Shawnee Mission, changed my oil and they forgot one thing, new oil. My daughter drove the car one mile and now the motor is ruined. They want to use their "mechanics" to install a used motor with unknown service records and didn't even want to pay for a rental car while it was being fixed. HOW DO YOU FORGET TO PUT OIL IN? Please help. Anybody know a good attorney that specializes in this type of situation?

I took my car in to get alignment after an accident I had, hitting the curb. The service man said there was no use doing an alignment according to the reading of alignment. He said this was do to something bent in the knee assembly and it would cost $615.00 to repair. $300 of this was for knee assembly. But when I checked prices at a local used parts yard,it was only $150. Calverts says they won't over price because they keep items in stock. Seems to me Gary, you lied. And over priced. I'm not going back. THATS RIGHT !!

It's time to show off the true colors of Mr. Calvert himself. I had my front brakes & rotors replaced at this Express location while I was home from college. 4 months later they were making an awful grinding noise again and I was 2.5 hours away from the Express that changed them originally. I had my car looked at by a mechanic in my college town and they said that not only were my brakes needing replaced again, so were my rotors because they had stuck together and run metallic from the calipers not being greased, one of the bolts was missing and another had been stripped, and my car was unsafe for me to drive all the way back to KC. They tried working with Express on a warranty, I tried working with Express on multiple occasions as well, and after being treated with complete disrespect I gave up. I decided to write a review on Facebook, because I was disappointed in how they handled the situation overall. My family has taken all of their cars there over the years, and it would have been nice if they would have handled it differently. Afterwards, my mother contacted this district manager after I had tried multiple times and couldn't get ahold of him, and he was going to try and work on a refund for the brake pads. (The brake pads that I had to have replaced in manhattan and then drove them all the way back to KC for Express to look at.) Due to writing a poor review on how the manager at this express handled the situation, Mr. Calvert (the owner) explained that due to "poor publicity" no refund would be given. Apparently, if you write a poor review about any of his locations, it hurts his feelings so much that he is not willing to do the RIGHT thing. Freedom of speech should not be a crime, and what ever happened to treating customers with respect? Because of these actions, Calvert's Express Auto and Tire has now lost the business of 9 vehicles that they once serviced multiple times over the years, and I will never recommend them again. If you want a great mechanic in the KC area, try LinDan's Automotive. They are fair, reasonable, and treat you like you are family.

I was very pleased with this g...

I was very pleased with this garage. I went in to have brakes fixed and an oil change. They were quick and didn't try to sell me a bunch of unnecessary extras. They also threw in the oil change and tire patch for free w/ the brake service. I would definitely recommend this garage.

General Info
IMPORTANT NOTICE . . . One of our biggest competitive advantages, and the main reason why we are able to fix your car for a lot less than our competition, is the fact that we purchase parts in bulk and stock them in our own parts warehouse. Our buying power, therefore, is unmatchable, and if anyone tells you differently, they are knowingly misleading you. THEY MAY SAY QUALITY IS THE DIFFERENCE, BUT THE TRUTH IS . . . MOST OF OUR COMPETITORS CARRY NO INVENTORY AT ALL. As a result, our competitors must pay more for their products, and the higher costs are passed on to you, which results in creating a bigger financial burden for you. THE ABSOLUTE TRUTH -- OUR COMPETITORS CANNOT MATCH OUR BUYING POWER. REMEMBER, WHEN YOU PAY MORE WITH OTHER COMPANIES, THAT DOES NOT NECESSARILY MEAN THAT YOU RECEIVED MORE. AT CALVERT'S EXPRESS, YOU ALWAYS RECEIVE TOP QUALITY PARTS AND SERVICE AT THE LOWEST PRICE POSSIBLE.
