About Veenstra & Kimm Veenstra & Kimm, Inc was founded in 1961 as a partnership of Bob Veenstra and Jim Kimm for the practice of consulting engineering. The business was founded primarily to provide engineering services to cities throughout the state of Iowa. In 1966 the scope of our firm's activities was enlarged to include municipal planning and land use planning. Since its founding Veenstra & Kimm, Inc has tailored its services to meet the needs of Iowa municipalities. Since its founding, Veenstra & Kimm, Inc has grown to its current staff of approximately 68 serving a variety of municipal, other governmental and private clients. Since 1961 Veenstra Kimm, Inc has provided services to communities throughout the state of Iowa from our office in West Des Moines. In the mid 1990s Veenstra Kimm, Inc made a commitment to improve the delivery of services to clients throughout the state of Iowa. To fulfill this commitment Veenstra & Kimm, Inc embarked on a program of opening branch offices. The branch offices are located at strategic locations to improve the delivery of services to our clients throughout Iowa and adjoining states. Veenstra & Kimm, Inc currently has a total of six offices located in and adjacent to the state of Iowa. The offices are designed to provide local delivery of services throughout the state of Iowa and surrounding areas. In 1996 Veenstra Kimm, Inc opened its branch office in Coralville, Iowa. In 1999 Veenstra Kimm, Inc opened its branch office in Moline, Illinois. Our Coralville and Moline offices provide services to clients located in eastern Iowa and western Illinois. In 1997 Veenstra Kimm, Inc opened its branch office in Omaha, Nebraska. Our Omaha branch office provides services to our clients in communities in western Iowa and eastern Nebraska. Veenstra & Kimm, Inc opened its Mason City branch office in 2000. The Mason City branch office provides services to communities in northern Iowa and southern Minnesota. Veenstra & Kimm, Inc opened its branch office in Sioux City, Iowa in the fall of 2000 after acquiring a small engineering firm located in the Sioux City area. Our Sioux City branch office provides services to clients in northwest Iowa and adjoining areas in Nebraska and South Dakota. Veenstra & Kimm, Inc uses a branch office service center concept which fully integrates the resources of all of our offices. Veenstra & Kimm, Inc.'s approach to branch offices integrates the resources of our main office and our branch office. Our offices are fully integrated, including modern communication technology and electronic interchange of data.
