We compose places rooted in the land, where native ecosystems and climate are celebrated, and surprise and delight await. Tormod Hellwig, llc designs projects from resorts that present the pleasures and wisdom of nature; to engaging retail and mixed use complexes; interpretive and cultural centers that tell a compelling story; and campuses and buildings with a depth of encoded cultural meaning.The Pacific Northwest office of Tormod Hellwig, llc is located in the forests of the Olympic peninsula. Here we are experimenting with native forest landscaping and epiphyte green roofs that require no soil and no drainage systems. A southwest office is planned for the Sonoran desert to be sheltered by the earth and powered by the sun.
