The first Waffle House restaurant was opened on Labor Day in 1955 in Avondale Estates, Ga. Since then, it has grown into a chain of more than 1,500 company and franchise-owned casual restaurants in over 25 U.S. states. It serves a variety of waffles, steaks, omelets, hamburgers, country ham, pork chops and grits. The restaurant serves specialty dishes, such as Bert's chili, Walt s soup, Alice s iced tea and Lib's patty melt. It offers hash browns in eight different ways. Waffle House serves more than 3 million pounds of grits each year and over 10,000 T-bone steaks each day. Apart from serving food, the restaurant supports various health and human service organizations, youth and education programs, and disadvantage and other civic causes. It conducts in-house events and programs, such as The Great Miller Lite Chili Cook-off and the Waffle House World Waffle Eating Championship.

Could have been better ! We eat there regularly and continue to have issues with salads. For some reason the salad never makes it to the table before the steaks or main menu items. Last night the salad was wilted and brown in places. Then when I gave it back to our waitress we hear another one say that it might have been prepped the day before. Seems many who work there are just going through the motions, not talking pride in their work.
Robin was a wonderful, friendly, and prompt waitress who knows how to make a person feel like they are at home. The food tasted fresh, hot, and cooked to perfection, and each item had a well-rounded proportion. The interior and exterior of the building seemed to be kept clean, and up kept well. The atmosphere and presence of the Waffle House was pleasant, inviting, and made you feel like youre at home. The Farmers give the Waffle House located at 3401 Schillinger Road North in Semmes Alabama a 5***** star rating for the dine in experience on 12/10/2012.

Lost my business due to thugs hanging out at the front door to have to walk by to go in.
