In operation for more than 50 years, the Puget Sound Institute of Pathology is one the largest pathology groups in Washington. It specializes in surgical cytology analysis, bone marrow biopsy, autopsy, laboratory consultation and management and frozen section analysis. The group has expertise in outpatient services, including smear interpretation and human papillomavirus testing. The Puget Sound Institute of Pathology additionally offers hematopathology, dermatopathology, cytopathology and breast pathology services. Its research pathology services serve the needs of clinical and basic science researchers. The center s pathologists offer services in hematology, blood banking, and transfusion medicine.
