- Dental ExaminationDuring your initial visit, our doctor will perform a comprehensive exam of both your hard and soft tissue with digital X-rays, a periodontal evaulation, and a head/neck examination. We reserve 2 hours for our new patients to ensure that all exam and consultation topics can be discussed and your questions answered by your doctor. We also set aside enough time to take care of your personalized cleaning and will always strive to take care of as much as we can to maximize your busy schedule.Â
- X-rays
- Teeth CleaningDental veneers can last indefinitely, depending on how well they are taken care of by the patient. Because porcelain veneers are stronger than simple bonding, they are also more resistant to stains and chipping. Even so, you must maintain regular oral hygiene at home, and visit us for routine cleanings and exams. This is to ensure that your new cosmetic veneers will continue to look as good as new. Another important point is that oral habits that damage natural teeth such as nail biting, opening bobby pins, and chewing on hard objects can also damage your new dental veneers. Once porcelain veneers are applied, just treat them like natural teeth. They look great and are extremely durable.
- Fluoride TreatmentTooth decay, or cavities, used to be a certainty. But the arrival of fluoridated drinking water and toothpaste has changed that. Fluoride is a natural mineral that safely strengthens tooth enamel (the hard outer “shell†of your tooth) and helps stop cavities from forming. All children, and adults, can really benefit from fluoride. If your child isn’t getting enough fluoride from the drinking water, or they continue to get cavities, your dentist may suggest a fluoride treatment.
- FillingsTwo years ago you proposed an aggressive plan to “repair and restore†my imperfect teeth... the results of a combination of no braces, a broken and then lost front tooth, too much crowding, and many cavities that had been filed with amalgam filling over the years. Overall, my mouth was a mish-mash of various fillings, a false tooth (not matched very well), and crowded molars.
- Resin CompositeTooth-colored fillings are an alternative to traditional metal fillings and fall into two categories; direct and indirect. Â A direct restoration is composite resin applied in one appointment. Indirect restorations (inlays or onlays) are made of porcelain or composite resin materials fabricated by a dental laboratory. These restorations usually take two appointments.
- VeneersFeeling the need or desire to change the appearance of one or more teeth? Â Veneers can be done discreetly yet allow a person to dynamically change the way they are perceived with their new smile. Â They are placed on the front surface of the teeth to improve the shape, color, close spaces, repair decay and or to correct wear and trauma. Â They are no thicker than a finger nail, but do not let their dainty size deceive you, the transformations can be impressive! Â Please read on to learn more about enhancing your smile.
- CrownsThe office is equipped with the latest in state-of-the-art technology to ease your appointment and give you the best experience possible. Â We offer Digital X-rays, Cerec (CAD/CAM designed crowns the same day), Demand Force (appointment confirmations via texting/email) and 21" TV monitors in each treatment room with a wide array of both kid and adult movies, including Netflix. - BridgesIf you have damaged or missing teeth, come visit Dr. Ty Etheridge at Etheridge Family Dentistry and learn if a dental crown or a dental bridge is the right restorative and cosmetic dental solution for you. Read more about our approach to dental crowns and bridges in the general dentirsty section of our website, click here to read more.
- Dental Bonding
- Root Canal TreatmentBonding is a resin filling material that was used for several years to cover the front surface of teeth. Today, we generally use bonding only to fill in small surfaces or cavities and repair chips in teeth. A full dental crown is used when a tooth has had root canal treatment, or when a substantial amount of the entire tooth structure (enamel) has been lost. Cosmetic veneers can be placed on teeth to make your smile look natural and beautiful, while keeping as much natural tooth structure as possible.
- DenturesDental implants enable dentists to create healthy, attractive smiles in an innovative way. Used to replace one or more missing teeth, dental implants are another alternative to conventional bridges and dentures. In essence, dental implants can act and look like natural teeth. And, because they maintain bone mass, dental implants can help prevent additional tooth loss as well as the sunken facial appearance associated with missing teeth.
- Dental Implants Dental implants are an important part of his practice at Etheridge Family Dentistry as it allows patients with missing teeth to receive a beautiful, fully-functional smile again.
- Oral Surgery
- Gum SurgeryA great smile isn’t only just about great teeth. Some people have too much gum tissue (a “gummy†smile), or their gums may be uneven (a “crooked†smile). Either way, gum surgery can make a big difference.lgsimage
- Tooth Extractions
- Bone GraftingThe primary limiting factor inherent in implant dentistry is the amount of bone available to receive and support the dental implant. If it is determined that a patient does not have enough bone to support a dental implant restoration, bone grafting procedures may be considered. Heavy smoking and some medical conditions may preclude the use of implant dentistry.
- OrthodonticsMost people wish that they had straight, beautifully aligned, sparkling white teeth. Unfortunately, most people are not that lucky. When teeth are in very poor alignment - rotated, tilted, crowded, the obvious way to correct the problem is by orthodontics - braces.
- Invisalign OrthodonticsAfter determining whether Invisalign® is right for you, Dr. Ty Etheridge takes a series of bite impressions that will be used to create your Invisalign® retainers. Each aligner is worn for two weeks, then the next aligner is used. The process is repeated until the desired result is achieved.
- BracesAt Etheridge Dentistry I was in need of some cosmetic surgery. My front teeth were not large enough for braces, so we asked Dr. Ty to help us. He consulted with us and found the best way to fix my teeth. After the procedure I was amazed at my new look. My teeth looked great. I am so glad I went to Etheridge Dentistry because now I have a whole new confidence about myself! Thanks Doctor Ty!
- Teeth WhiteningWhitening can be performed with an In-Office method or a Take-Home method. Many different techniques and types of bleaching systems are available with a large variety of results that may depend on each person's ability to whiten their teeth. Many In-Office bleaching systems can achieve a brighter and more immediate result, but the result may fade sooner and may also cause a person to experience a greater amount of sensitivity. We prefer to offer the Take-Home method due to less sensitivity, better long term retention of the whitening and the ability to keep your trays for future maintenance of your new white smile.Â
