- Press Page Press Release First Look: Cederberg Tea House Sells South African Sweets in Seattle The tea house is named after the region where Rooibos tea was first harvested, and Cederberg is perhaps the only place in the United States that pulls Rooibos tea through an espresso machine to make a variety of drinks. –Jay Friedman, Serious Eats Cederberg Brings South African Tea to Queen Anne I tried the Roobios Latte, which tasted similar to chai, but not nearly as cloying and with a much stronger tea flavor. I bought a Rooibos Fresh too, which is apple juice with two shots of Roobios tea served cold in a Mason jar. It was refreshing and a nice change from run-of-the-mill iced tea. –Nicole Sprinkle, Seattle Weekly In the Know: Cederberg Tea House brings a taste of South Africa to Queen Anne What began as a mother-daughter catering venture, fueled by a passion for tea and the desire to share their traditional South African family recipes, has been reborn in the form of Cederberg Tea House. Through an outpouring of community support and Kickstarter contributions, the duo and their husbands successfully opened their first storefront in Upper Queen Anne last month. –Hilary Gorenstein, Seattleite We’re All Steamed Up Over the Cederberg There’s no shortage of caffeine junkies in this town (yourself included). But it looks like coffee just met its match at Cederberg Tea House. –Ashley Breckel, Daily Candy A Spot of Tea: Cederberg So this malva pudding, it looks like just a plain old loaf cake. But wait until you taste it. It’s magical. Suddenly your taste buds are melting in pleasure. After Josh took a bite, he looked at me with his eyes wide open and pointing at the cake. Being that l’ve known him for 10 years, I knew this was the “This is so good, I can’t wait to finish my bite to tell you” signal. I agreed; this cake was mighty fine. –Heather Joy, HeatherJoyus

General Info
Cederberg Story Cederberg Tea House, named after the region in the world where Rooibos Tea naturally grows, began as a mother-daughter catering company. After catering Natasha’s own wedding, we realized how much joy it would give us to bring the art of tea and the beauty of our country to the Seattle area, so we started catering and sharing our passion for tea and South African treats. We have now opened a brick and mortar location in Upper Queen Anne. Come and have a cup of tea and try some of our South African specialties.
