Framer's Workshop - My Experience

I wanted to have 2 of my Hermes scarves framed. I was directed to Framer's Workshop in Scottsdale and was blown away by the expertise, craftsmanship and beauty of the finished product. Framing a large silk scarf is a daunting undertaking. Before the framing can even begin, the scarf must be handstiched to a linen backing to keep it from buckling. The scarves were 40+ inches square so this required a delicate technique to maintain squareness for the border of each scarf. Looking at the finished product there is no hint of a stitch or how the scarf was held in place. The work is meticulous. After the scarf was sewn onto the linen backing, two different mats were placed along the edge of the scarf hem and then the entire scarf, backing and mats were framed. To be able to view these scarves hanging in my home is a great joy for me. They are one of a kind and gifts from my husband. I would recommend Framer's Workshop for any framing work. Each of my scarves is a unique

If you want it framed right!

I took 3 different prints/photos into Framer's Workshop to be framed. After getting the superb guidance on frames and matting for these 3, I was so impressed, that I immediately went home and retrieved a much more important work of art that I had had framed the year before. Important because it was a oil pastel done by my 8 year old son. Unfortunately, the OTHER Scottsdale frame store that had framed it did such a disappointing job that I already wanted it reframed. Once Framer's Workshop worked their magic, it was perfect and hangs over the sofa in the living room. They understand exactly how to use a frame to enhance a piece of art (so often a frame can overpower or even detract from the art) and they don't try to oversell. On top of all this, everyone in the shop professional, clearly love what they are doing and are delightful people. Thank you.
