General Info
A full-service equestrian training and boarding facility serving north Santa Cruz County. About Glenwood Equestrian Center Dorothy Wise has owned the Glenwood Equestrian Center since May 2001. Her goal is to create a first-class equestrian facility providing the highest quality training and riding instruction in a safe, fun, and attractive environment. Dorothy started riding at the age of 7, and trained at Foxfield for many years. While earning her Computer Science degree at Princeton University, she rode on their intercollegiate team. She worked for various software companies for 20 years. While working in Colorado, she owned an Anglo-Trakehner with whom she did eventing and dressage. She sold her horse and quit riding after the birth of her first child. She eventually moved to California to work at Borland in Scotts Valley. In 2000, she retired from high-tech at the birth of her third child. After purchasing this property, she started riding again and bought Rascal ( aka Good Vibrations ) with whom she has competed in Hunter/Jumpers and Dressage. She has since purchased Remington, a young Hanoverian, who is coming along nicely. Facility Improvements During the last seven years, we have completely renovated the large arena by regrading and adding drainage, footing, fencing, irrigation and stadium lights. We also added a second smaller arena and a round-pen. The paddocks were reconfigured to provide more turn-out areas. Numerous trails that traverse our 45 acres were cleared and enhanced. Finally, we've completely refurbished our 4 and 8-stall barns, increasing our capacity to 24 horses. Recognition
