Went there for my birthday and send off for my 4 girls back to college. Bread was stale, 2 orders of healthy salmon with pureed sweet potatoes were cold, no sushi that night (none on Sun and Mon even though their menu contains 3/4 of a page of sushi items), out of truffle oil--could not make mac and cheese. Seriously. Worst $160 ever spent. Ruined our celebratory night. NEVER going back again.

I get it. They remind me of Houston's and the food is almost like Houston's, but not quite. Tuna i had was way too rare. Service is fine, but I think this place is missing something, a certain edge.

Service was so slow we thought the waitress went home! When food arrived, there wasn't enough room on the tiny table to put it all down along with the bread and "ridiculously" large bread plates! Tables are so close together you hear everyone else's conversation around you. You'd think you were in Manhattan the way this place is run. Won't be hurrying back!!

Went there on Sunday and we were seated right away. My boyfriend ordered the ribs and I had the double cut pork chop and it was very moist and tender, very very good. One of the best pork chops I have had in a long time. I would definitely come back. It feels good to finally find a place that actually prepares real food.

I think people are missing the boat here. It is not fine dining, nor do they represent themselves as a fine dining establishment. An owner is always there, accessible, accommodating, and friendly. We live in Scotch Plains and this place had quickly became our favorite. The atmosphere, although noisy at times, is lively and exciting. The fact that people complain about children in the dining room is curious to me. They must not have ever had children of their own. The food is made from scratch and is held to a higher standard than most in the area. Great job GrilleStone.

This place is amazing place to bring your family. We are a family of 6, and for the family looking for a night out at an amazing price, GrilleStone is the place to go. We came in early on a Friday night. We were greeted by a courteous hostess and seated right away. The hostess brought over a $5 kids menu with just about anything our children would want to eat. We were visited by a manager who asked us how everything was. We were extremely satisfied. My husband has the ribs and chicken. The ribs were so juicy and flavorful that they fell off the bone. The half rotisserie chicken was plump and moist (other reviews spoke about chicken breast??). The manager explained that everything is made from scratch. There is nothing like it in the area. In a time where money is tight for everyone, GrilleStone is doing a great job keeping things affordable for the average family.

Best mother's day ever. My family took me out to GrilleStone for mother's day. It was an amazing experience. The restaurant was family friendly (great since we have three children). The atmosphere is friendly and inviting. The service was fantastic and we even had the pleasure of speaking to the owner. The food was amazing as well. The lobster omlette special was great and my husband had some of the best prime rib ever. All in all it was a great experience and we will be returning soon!

I have watched as this new entry into the local eatery market transformed an old steak house into what appeared to be a fine dining establishment. Ah! Looks can be deceiving! The hostess station was well staffed and I was seated quickly. The place is nicely appointed with individual tables in a spacious dining area. A far cry from what was once a Long Horn Steak House. Our waitress was quick to arrive and take my drink order. The room was busy and quite noisy, screaming kids and all. Ordered the chicken and rib combo with a quesada for a starter. Food arrived in a reasonable time. Quesada was ok nothing special with just a touch of salsa on the plate. When the rib/chicken combo arrived the plate was loaded w/ soggy greasy limp fries, a 1/4 chicken and 6 ribs w/ a very strange red sauce on top. Although meaty, the ribs were tasteless. I would guess boiled and the sauce was neither flavorful or attractive. The chicken was also tasteless and bland. A total disappointment. Go elsewhere.

You have to go there friday and saturday nights. The drink specials are second to none and the entertainment is always fresh and exciting. And now that the kitchen is open all night its really a no brainer. My friends and I go back each week just to see what they have next. It never gets stale. This place is amazing.

My boyfriend and I just ate there Thursday night. It was one of the best experiences we've had in a while. We eat all over the area and no place can come close. We stated with the buffalo shrimp. They were perfectly breaded, light and crispy. Amazing way to start. My bf had the meatloaf which he cannot stop talking about. They should really make it their signature dish in my opinion. We split a bottle of wine, B Side Cab, at the recommendation of Eileen (we were eating at the bar). We couldn't have been happier. We've heard rumblings of bad service but they must be a distant memory. This place is amazing and for the price, it has to be one of the best restaurants in the state.

Family, friends and I went Saturday night we were a fairly large party and enjoyed our meal and service. Anything tuna is to die for. Our waitress, Lauren, was a doll and the few issues that occured were quickly rectified. If Lauren was not around another friendly waitress was around, Abigale, who had no problem getting what we requested. And my family is needy and all our needs were met. I'm from the area and am looking forward to going back or renting out the party room, I stronly suggest you go. If you had a bad experience try again I'm sure you wont be dissappointed. Besides the tuna entree the short ribs and specials are the way to go. Also ask about drink specials from what I was told there are specials almost every night...even during the week!

great seafood, some of the best calamari I ever had, huge turkey burger, and the fresh made fries and chips are a plus. I went 3 times so far, and aside from one special I was thrilled every time. Some of my friends however mentioned that they had to weight an hour for the food. Me service was quick enough.

I'll go back just for the bbq ribs (there are plenty of other reasons as well) ; ). Amazingly big portion and the meat fell off the bone. Highly recommend! ! ! !

I read some of the reviews prior to writing mine. The bad ones couldn't more off base. The service is top notch. From the courteous hostesses, to the attentive wait staff to the managers checking in at every table, the service is amazing. The atmosphere is fun and upbeat (people complaining about the tv's competing with conversation is a total lie because music is playing, not the tvs). The food is the best around. No other establishment can even come close. Every time my family and I eat there we have an amazing time. Affordable is not even the word. It is a place we frequent once or twice a week.

First time and not memorable. We sat at the "high table" section. Food presentation was good, not so the taste. Grilled chicken was dry and chewy, rice was overcooked. They were out of the two beers I asked for, third was the charm. My wife had a burger which was overdone, not what she requested. Desert wasn't much better. Chocolate ice cream had ice crystals; maybe it had been refrozen? It was also over priced at $8.00. The TV's provided competition to the conversaton. The place was packed so I am sure there are a lot of first timers. Service was prompt and they did check back. I suggest that everything on the table be moved when its being cleaned. This place is still new and they need to work out the kinks... quickly!
