The Rotterdam Fire District 2 is a full-service public safety agency that works to provide fire prevention and suppression and emergency medical and rescue services. It operates a training division that offers educational classes in firefighter rope and self-rescue and rapid intervention. The district supports a fire prevention program, as well as has a women s auxiliary unit. The Rotterdam Fire District s range of apparatus includes cars, engines, front-line pumpers and heavy rescue vans. It operates a communication center that coordinates responses to fire, and medical emergency and nonemergency services.
