The Schaumburg Police Department works to preserve the public peace, prevent crime, protect life and property, apprehend criminals, and detect and arrest individuals who break the law and disregard village ordinances. The department regulates vehicle and pedestrian traffic and offers a wide variety of educational, safety and crime prevention programs. The Schaumburg Police Department focuses on improving the quality of life in the community through interaction and partnerships with residents, schools, businesses, elected officials and other village departments. It conducts alcohol awareness training for bartenders and summer bike safety programs. In addition, the department supports the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) program.
