Athens Township Volunteer Fire Company is an all-volunteer nonprofit firefighting company. It offers fire emergency medical response, rescue, and prevention and suppression services for residents and visitors. Athens Township Volunteer Fire Company has a fire chief, firefighters, captains and lieutenants. It maintains a range of fire handling and rescue equipment, such as a 2008 model engine-pumper hybrid unit manufactured by Kovatch Mobile Equipment (KME) with a 20-gallon foam system, ladder racks and traffic avoidance devices.
