Founded in 1950, Jacob G. Smith Elementary serves students in kindergarten through fifth grade. The school s academic curriculum includes a variety of subjects, such as math, language arts, social studies, physical education, science, instrumental and vocal music, drama, art, computer literacy and vocational arts. It encourages students to participate in a range of extracurricular activities and sports. Jacob G. Smith Elementary offers clubs and extracurricular activities, including band and student council. Its sports activities include football, softball, wrestling, basketball, gymnastics, volleyball, baseball, and track and field. In addition, Jacob G. Smith Elementary operates a parent-teacher association that conducts several fundraising activities and book fairs. The school is located in Savannah, Ga.
