Founded in 1944, California Cartage Company is a family-owned company that provides a range of transportation and logistics services throughout the United States. It offers freight consolidation, import deconsolidation and distribution, less-than-full container loading, computerized scheduling and customs-bonded drayage services. The company utilizes information systems and satellite-based communications to process orders, optimize scheduling, and dispatch and monitor loads in transit. It operates several terminal facilities equipped with repair and maintenance shops. The company has more than 1,200 owner-operators in its fleet nationwide to provide drayage, intermodal drayage and consolidation trucking services to warehouses. Its subsidiaries include Cal Cartage Express, K & R Transportation, F&S Distributing Company, Brookvale International, California Multimodal and Container Freight Corporation.
