DO NOT go to Young Family Dental. I had a terrible experience with them and still paying for it. I went in to get my teeth cleaned and have a cavity fixed. They did not schedule enough time to do my cleaning so I had to come back in to finish my cleaning. When they did my filling they did a terrible job and my tooth still hurt so they had me come back a second time to fix it. They adjusted the height of the filling and then told me to see if that fixes it and that it may take several months before it feels completely better. So weeks and months had gone by and my tooth still hurt so I called and asked them if they could take a look at it since it still hurt. They said they would be happy to look at it and take more xrays but that I would have to pay for the appointments and xrays and then any work that they would have to do to fix it. I was very upset because they told me I could come back to have them fix it if it still hurt but now they want me to pay more money to them because they cannot do a basic filling. I would not recommend that anyone go here because of their lack of expertise and their DISHONESTY. They are just trying to get as much money out of their customers and not really help them. I have a few friends who have gone there and have said they will never go back either because they are so bad. Save some money and pain and find a different dentist.
These guys in AF are like the lousy fast food restaraunt of dentistry (they even share a building with a burger joint and pet store... im not making this up). My old caring and skilled dentist no longer accepts my insurance so I was forced to find a new place to get work done.
Rather than one dentist working on me I have had a different one on every visit. My last visit with Dr Chris Young inspired me to write this review and warning to anyone considering this practice.
This doctor came in and with out so much as a grumble reached in and yanked my wisdom teeth without even checking to see if I was numbed yet. Unfortunatley the dental hygenist who administered the local pain killers didnt know what she was doing and even admitted so. After stabbing a nerve that lit my whole face on fire she missed the other side completely as I found out when Dr Chris W Young began yanking and I couldnt contain my voice as I yelled in pain. He was extremely rude as he told me I was only feeling pressure and making it worse on myself. Without even a 1 second pause he pulled the other side which fortunately was very numb and I didnt even flinch. When it was over he was in the other room before I could even catch my breath.
Also, on a side note they have their dental assistants do 80% of the work. They are either rude and condescending or polite and incompetent. They all are constantly trying to up sell you and barely give your mouth time to heal before scheduling your next visit.
I could write a whole book on these guys so I will just wrap it up.
YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!! Please don't let these guys have your business.
I had a root canal done at this office about four years ago. It's not felt right since and all they had to say was that it was impossible for me to feel pain in that tooth since he removed all the nerves. Well, duh. So I finally broke down and went to another dentist just two weeks ago since I was STILL having pain in that tooth that was supposedly impossible. Lo and behold, the x-ray showed that he hadn't cleaned out one of the roots and it had caused an infection that had eaten away a significant portion of the bone. Impossible to feel pain?? I beg to differ. You couldn't pay me to go back into their office unless it was to serve them legal papers to get back at least the $375 I had to pay to get the tooth re-treated. Thanks Young Family Dental!
I hate going to the dentist, but I was pleasantly surprised by my experience. The dentists and assistants were caring and courteous. They made me feel at ease, and took special care to see to my comfort. They also helped my young children to feel comfortable and calm.
