Founded in 1974, the Santa Cruz Women's Health Center is a nonprofit community-based primary health care and education facility that provides medical services for women and children. It serves low-income, uninsured and underinsured residents. The facility s medical services include gynecological care, family planning, pregnancy testing, general medicine and pediatrics, as well as sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment. The Santa Cruz Women's Health Center s prenatal care program offers access to midwives, obstetricians, family practice providers, counseling, education, acupuncture, massage and chiropractics. The facility accepts insurance plans from various insurance companies, such as Medi-Cal and Medicare. It is funded by client fees, donations, local and state government, foundations, corporate grants and fundraising activities. The Santa Cruz Women's Health Center is located in Santa Cruz, Calif.
