General Info
Church of the Valley’s motto is “Alive in Christ, Sharing His Love.” These simple words encompass its two-fold mission: to live the Great Commandment and obey the Great Commission. The Great Commandment as found in Matthew 22:37 asks us to love God fully with heart, soul, and mind. We are to love God with every part of who we are, not just with our bodies or spirits or souls, but all at once. Being alive in Christ is experiencing this transformational love of God and reciprocating that love back to Him. We are also called into service by sharing the love of God. Jesus commands his disciples in Matthew 28:16-20 to go, to make disciples, to baptize, and to teach. Sharing his love means going out and proclaiming the good news, drawing people into the family of faith, confirming their testimony through baptism, and teaching them obedience to Jesus through studying the Word. As they mature, they can continue the cycle of going out, making disciples, baptizing, and teaching obedience. Sharing God’s love means equipping people with the tools necessary to be proclaimers of the love of Christ until the world knows his saving grace
