The best bookstore in the Tri-Counties! Great selection, great service, will order, will suggest. Love the place.

Chaucer's is absolutely the best bookstore in Santa Barbara; they have such a great selection, and the atmosphere is wonderful. The clerks are the best thing about the store, though. They always know how to find what you're looking for (even if you hardly have any information to give them) but they leave you alone when you want to browse in peace. Chaucer's Children's section is in a separate room, and it's like a magical world of its own. The kids love it, and the dedicated children's room staff even keeps track of local school reading lists just to make things easier on parents. I don't know how the big, national chain bookstores stay in business in Santa Barbara, when they've got Chaucer's as competition. Chaucer's Books is a local treasure.
