Had 20 yr. old oriental rug. (approx. 7' x 9') cleaned. Rug looked clean and much better, but had two areas, one with a diameter of about 1' and another with a diameter of about 2', that were matted and sticky. Areas looked normal but texture was hard matted flat, central parts of the two areas were especially sticky. So sticky that if you rubbed your hand into the worst part of the spots a sticky residue would transfer to your fingers. Asked man to come back and take a look at the areas. Told him we weren't upset but wanted him to see if anything more could be done to free the matted fibers. Because he stated he uses a water cleaning process, I asked if a spot dry cleaning might remove whatever was matting the fibers. He said the strongest chemicals were used and this problem was just wear and tear. Pure wear and tear did not make any sense to me because we have a residue. Spent $200 and will need to take it somewhere else. He did not even want to try and fix it.
