On 3/29/10, Power Plumbing of San Luis Obispo came out to give my wife an estimate on 3 problems: the hot water handle had seized on my bathroom faucet, the kitchen faucet had seized and couldn't rotate, and there was a gas leak in the gas fireplace. Power Plumbing's estimate: $444 to replace the bathroom faucet, $479 to replace the kitchen faucet, $503 to fix the gas leak, $80 for coming out to provide an estimate and detecting the gas leak we told them about, and an additional cost to repair the drywall damage that would occur while fixing the gas leak (drywall repair to be performed by another contractor). Total: $1506 + drywall repairs.I contacted another licensed plumber/contractor who came out and fixed the bathroom faucet, replaced the kitchen faucet, and fixed the gas leak without damaging the drywall. Total: $395 and no drywall repair.I can't comment on the quality of Power Plumbing's work, but I can comment on their prices: $1506 + drywall vs. $395. Shameful.
