I wont even give a star! I am active duty military and was sent to another location, when trying to cancel the membership, and be refunded my 80.00 dollars that they chargered i was told "no way"!! i asked to for the forms, and they said it will be effective 60 DAYS from now, so next month i will still be be charged for a membership i no longer have!! That is no way to do business! but they want me to transfer my account to someone eles! YOU WISH!

I've been tanning 3 to 4 times per week for the past 7 months. I work at a medical office and I'm a full time student, so I like to come relax at lunch or after work at Planet Beach. I enjoy the friendly and knowledgable staff. Tanning is now a luxury I can afford and I enjoy using the spa services as well. I enjoy the sanitary and friendly atomosphere!

I have tanned at more tanning salon's than I could possibly count. I have been tanning for over 10 years and I have had friends who have owned tanning salons and differant friends who have managed tanning salons. I have also known people who have worked at this Planet Beach. The lady who is the owner of this tanning salon is the biggest crook I have ever met. I have lived in SLO my entire life and I know countless business owners in this town. This is the only business owner I have something negative to say about. The lady who owns this business helped me my first time tanning here. I wanted to start tanning here because I moved down the street. When I went there to tan, the owner informed me that they do not provide eye protection and that I would have to buy eye protection from her. She provided me with eye protection that she charged me $10 for, or I would not have been able to tan she claimed. This was the first and only tanning salon that I have ever heard of that does not provide eye protection. Then I asked for a non-tingler lotion. She basically FORCED me to buy this smelly, very expensive lotion that she claimed I had to buy. She was very rude and forcefull. I wanted a single basic tan and I ended up paying $30. So I paid and I tanned. When I was leaving, a girl who was also going to tan, said to the owner "Can I have a set of disposable eye protection"? The owner then gave the girl a pair of throw away stickers you can put over your eyes for $1. The owner neglected to offer these to me so I thought that was shady. I knew a girl who worked there in the past and she said the owner is ruthless. I forgot about the warning this past employee made and went to the salon to tan anyway. On top of this aweful expeariance, I didn't even get tan. If you want to get ripped off and contribute to a very ruthless woman, then tan here. If you want to get a better tan and pay half as much with friendly service, choose any other tanning salon in town. I am a very nice person and would normally never leave a negative review, but this woman is the worst.

I have been a Planet Beach member for almost 7 yrs and have watched it expand to an amazing spa including teeth whitening, facials, body hydration and guided meditation. I have enjoyed all these services. The body hydration moisturizes my skin making it silky smooth so that my tan is intensified. The staff has always been full of knowledge and friendly. Tanning year round has given me self esteem. Now I have no problem showing my legs in the winter!
