Building Futures with Women & Children is a nonprofit organization that serves homeless and battered women and children in San Francisco and in San Francisco and the Bay Area in California. Founded in 1986, the organization is located in San Leandro, Calif. It provides a range of emergency and support services for at-risk families and battered women and their children dealing with issues of homelessness, substance abuse and mental illness. Building Futures with Women & Children s San Leandro Shelter offers 24-hour staffing and client services for over 30 women and children. The organization provides food, case management, referral and advocacy services. Its children s program includes family counseling, child case management and tutoring for children.
