General Info
C.B. Perkins Co is a third generation family business, with a guitar shop located in San Jose, California. The business began in 1923 when Charles Blaine Perkins, a music teacher, needed working instruments for his students. He began to learn the art of stringed instrument repair, or luthiery. After a while, he decided to open his own shop, and he taught his son Kent the trade as well. Charles and Kent began building their own guitars in the late 1960s, as well as doing guitar repair and customizing. Today, C.B. Perkins has added a retail shop and lessons studios. We don't build guitars right now, but we are still have a busy repair shop. Kent's sons, Erick and Josh are running the business now. Kent is still actively involved in the shop, though he will claim that he's "just the janitor". We began selling used instruments and parts on eBay ( username cbperkinsco ) a couple years ago, and we had such a phenomenal response that we decided to build our own online store. We offer the same customer service to our online customers as we would if you walked into our shop. We bend over backwards to make our customers happy, whether they are in Sydney, Austrailia, or right around the corner in Campbell, CA.
