Home Away from Homelessness is a nonprofit organization that nurtures and supports the needs of homeless and formerly homeless children and families in San Francisco and Marin areas in California. The organization provides a variety of educational, social and recreational opportunities. Founded in 1994, it has a partnership with National Park Service and specializes in youth leadership programs. A Home Away From Homelessness operates School House, which is an after-school learning community for middle school children. It offers educational testing, mental health support, case management, individualized tutoring and homework assistance services. The organization s mentor program helps children and youths to foster long-term relationships with caring adults.
