Jill Buckley, MD, is a board-certified, urologic trauma reconstruction surgeon. She has a special interest in caring for patients who have complex urinary conditions including urethral stricture, hypospadias and benign prostate hyperplasia, as well as individuals who have complications in the genitourinary area as a result of trauma or prostate cancer treatment.Dr. Buckleys clinical and research expertise focuses on urethral reconstruction, including urinary fistula repair, complications from prostate cancer therapy, and genitourinary reconstruction for urethral stricture. She has co-authored numerous research studies and several surgical textbooks on these topics as well as on acute urinary trauma management.Prior to her arrival at UC San Diego Health, Dr. Buckley was an assistant professor at Tufts University School of Medicine and on the faculty at Lahey Clinic Medical Center.As an associate professor of surgery and urology residency program director, Dr. Buckley is involved in training residents and fellows in urology at UC San Diego School of Medicine.Dr. Buckley completed her residency training in urology and her fellowship training in reconstructive and trauma surgery at UCSF School of Medicine in San Francisco, California. She earned her medical degree from the University of California, Los Angeles, School of Medicine.Dr. Buckley is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a member of the American Urological Association, and serves on the Board of the Society of Genitourinary Reconstructive Surgeons. TURNS collects information and provides a comprehensive analysis of patient-reported and surgical outcomes from male incontinence, urethral stricture and other urological conditions.
