I've been riding with Horsemanship Academy for almost two years now and love the welcoming and friendly atmosphere I find in the school. The instructors are knowledgeable and a joy to learn from. The horses are all well taken care of and well behaved. Ponies are available for younger, smaller riders while full sized horses are available for adults. Recently the school moved to a new barn, Rocky Mountain Warmbloods, closer to Encinitas and it's gorgeous! Trail rides are always available to students, which I love! English, Western, Beginner or not this is a great school to join!

I've taken lessons at many barns around San Diego growing up and Horsemanship Academy at Sunset horse ranch is my favorite place to ride. The instructors are fun and very personable and the horses are all very well behaved while teaching me how to improve my riding, even as an adult. In group lessons the one on one attention to students is great. The trail rides are great too!

i.e., A local My kids have been riding here for about 6 years and we love it. There has been a recent ownership change and the place has gotten even better. The director and instructors are all very good. The ponies are great too! I like that they make the kids do everything from getting their own tack, grooming their pony, and learning all the different parts of the animal. This helps develop a great work ethic.favorite, or highly recommended because

I love the horses at Horsemanship Academy. They are good on trail, can jump, and run barrels. I like to ride English style, not Western and that has never been a problem. The horses are good at both. The instructors are super specific and really got me to advance my skills quickly. I enjoy everyone else's company too. It's been a great place to spend my time and get better at riding!

This is by far, one of the best places to learn to ride. I am not a youngster; but a lot of seniors have wanted to get on a horse and learn to ride well enough to stay on a horse - this is the place to learn to do just that! Lisa is down to earth; makes learning horsemanship pretty easy due to her patient manner around horses and people alike. Check this academy out.
