Maria Isabel Triana, M.D. is a Board-Certified, Comprehensive Ophthalmologist. She is originally from Bogota, Colombia, but relocated to the the U.S. in 2002. She completed medical school and residency training in Ophthalmology at Javeriana University, one of the oldest (1623) and most renowned private universities in South America. After residency, she worked in her own private practice and volunteered in remote areas of the the Amazon Rainforest where medical care was scarce. After relocating to the U.S., she worked as the Research Coordinator for a project investigating the development of diabetic retinopathy in children at the University of Texas Health Science Center-San Antonio.
