I also had a TERRIBLE experience. April 2014 was when I saw Dr. Shepherd. To start off, the office was dirty, not just old. Not taken care of well at all. My appointment was at 9:30 and after the hygienist got done cleaning my teeth, we waited on the dr for 45 minutes. The hygienist awkwardly apologized that she had not yet arrived and should be there shortly. When Dr. Shepherd finally arrived she waltzed in with a giggle and said "thanks for waiting on me!" It was amazing to me the lack of professionalism. No apologies for being incredibly LATE. They complained about my small mouth (what?!) and just generally made unprofessional conversation. But the kicker was the diagnosis. I went in for a cleaning. Dr. Shepherd kept repeating that I had "2-8 cavities". Never had a cavity in my life, and I felt like she was lying. When I went to finally leave the eternal appointment she pushed for me to come back in two weeks to get all of the work done. I told her we were moving, and I would see (we were moving, so decided to get a second opinion from my out of town family's dentist when we visited there two months later). I asked them to send the x-rays taken to that dentist's office, and they said they would. After three attempts over a period of 3 weeks, and a few more attempts from my family's dentist's office they procured the x-rays. After looking at the x-rays, then physically looking at my teeth the other dentist said there were no way 8 cavities there. I didn't need fillings, as Dr. Shepherd pushed for, I needed my wisdom teeth out (there were 2 cavities in two of the wisdom teeth but that was all). My mouth hurt two weeks after the cleaning, it was so rough. Horrid experience. It's either stupidity or dishonesty that gave me such a diagnosis. Either is bad for the dental customer. DON'T DO IT.
