As a part of Bexar County in Texas, Adult Probation is a social and human services agency that provides a range of assistance and evaluation programs individuals and families. It offers the Treatment Alternative to Incarceration Program (TAIP), which focuses on substance abuse screening, health assessment, treatment and referral services for the criminal justice population in Bexar County. The agency maintains a substance abuse felony punishment facility that provides long-term substance abuse treatment in a modified therapeutic community for felony offenders. It works to meet the specific needs of sexual offenders through the Surveillance of Adult Felons in their Environment units. Adult Probation additionally provides assistance to victims of criminal cases, as well as supervision and correctional services for individuals between the ages of 17 and 25.
