The office increases tourism and film production, as well as offers a range of work force development services. It operates the International Trade and Diplomacy Office, which assists companies in developing markets for their products and services in other countries. The Governor's Office of Economic Development maintains the Procurement Technical Assistance Centers, which serves several small-sized businesses. It administers rural development and film commission programs. The office serves the aviation, aerospace, life science, software development, defense and financial industries. The Governor's Office of Economic Development is governed by the State of Utah.
