- Dental ExaminationThe quality of our care is excellent, patient care is our top priority and our staff constantly strives to be the best. Your first visit, unless there is an immediate problem, will be for a complete comprehensive oral examination, which includes an oral cancer and blood pressure screening. With your permission, necessary digital radiographs will be taken. This is a good time for you to inform us of any areas of discomfort, problems chewing, or cosmetic changes that you desire.
- Teeth CleaningAt the conclusion of this visit, we will discuss your treatment options and formulate a treatment plan. This appointment takes about an hour. The next step is normally an appointment with one of our Registered Dental Hygienists for a complete periodontal (gum and bone) evaluation. A dental cleaning is usually a part of the plan unless periodontal issues are noted at this visit. We have found that this is the best way to get to know our new patients, what they want and need, and how we can best provide treatment.
- Fluoride TreatmentDr. Cameron encourages all children be given topical fluoride treatments twice a year to increase their resistance to tooth decay. Some adults also benefit from this treatment if they have a high cavity risk.
- Dental SealantsDental sealants are an outstanding tool to utilize in the prevention of tooth decay in children. Dental sealants are put on teeth, particularly molars having significant crevices where bacteria can accumulate and bring about cavities. The sealant fills in the crevices creating a wall to shield each tooth’s surface.
- FillingsAlmost everything wears out, and your silver fillings will not be any different. They withstand stress-filled and significant biting forces daily, and as they get older, they will crack, leak and may cause damaging fractures in the teeth. Over time, metal amalgam fillings can, in fact, absorb water, causing them to swell and break away from the tooth. When this occurs, your tooth is more susceptible to tooth decay and tenderness.
- Resin CompositeQuite a few patients come to Romie Lane Dental Group wanting to upgrade their silver fillings. They really want their outdated metal fillings taken out and exchanged with tooth-colored fillings. People typically mention esthetic and overall health concerns about their old metal fillings. It is correct that the esthetics of a smile can be drastically improved with a far more natural, tooth colored repair. In addition, there are numerous reasons that would explain why it makes sense to upgrade to a tooth colored porcelain restoration or maybe a resin composite filling.
- VeneersUnlike veneers or crowns, composite bonding requires little grinding down of the original tooth. Tooth-colored fillings (bonding) can also effectively handle cavities without having to destroy large amounts of the existing tooth structure. Not only do you not have those unsightly amalgam fillings, you also have a tooth that is restored more effectively.
- CrownsIf you’re self-conscious about your smile due to cracked, broken, decayed or worn teeth, we can bring back your healthy, natural-looking smile with crowns. A filling can restore a small defect in a tooth, but a crown is the most durable, strongest way to restore a tooth with extensive damage, front or back for the long term. With all the materials and techniques modern dentistry has to offer, crowns can be totally natural looking.
- BridgesA fixed bridge will prevent teeth from shifting, and stabilize your bite. To have a bridge made, call the dental office so the doctor can evaluate the area and discuss specifics with you.
- Dental BondingArtistic Dental Bonding is a cosmetic dental technique that the team at Romie Lane Dental Group use to improve the appearance of your teeth. The term “composite” refers to a natural tooth-colored blend of resin materials which are artfully applied to an existing tooth.

- Periodontal SurgeryUp until very recently, the only way to control advance cases of periodontal disease was to literally cut away the gums so that the pockets could be kept clean and small. This can be a radical and painful procedure. Periodontal surgery is something to be avoided if a less invasive procedure is available and in many cases laser assisted periodontal therapy provides the perfect alternative. After your hygienist removes the debris and calculus she will then use a laser to selectively remove diseased and infected tissue from around the tooth and within the pocket. The laser selectively targets the infected tissue and leaves the healthy tissue alone. The laser also eliminates the bacteria that caused your gum disease and stimulates your gums to heal. An antibiotic agent such as Arestin may be placed in selected areas after the use of the laser for even more benefit. Another great use of the laser is reducing the discomfort and duration of cold sores and other oral sores.
- DenturesAnyone with regular dentures knows that consuming a steak or biting into an apple is usually due to the fact that your dentures may slide and slip as they lose their connection to your gums.
- Dental ImplantsWhen permanent teeth are lost, regardless of the reason or number of teeth, dental implants can offer a “new lease on life.” They are superior to other choices because they are solid, secure, and esthetic. After nearly 35 years of use, they have a 90-95% proven success rate in appropriately chosen cases.

- Teeth WhiteningOur professional dental team can clean your teeth bringing back your bright smile and restoring your self confidence. Brushing your teeth can only do so much, not to mention you can damage your teeth by brushing with an abrasive tooth paste. Abrasive “teeth whitening” tooth pastes can break down the outer layers of your teeth leading to further tooth damage.
