The Marion County Assessor is responsible for locating, identifying the ownership and determining the value of all taxable property within the county, such as commercial, industrial, rural and urban properties, manufactured structures and business personal property. The department is also responsible for managing special programs, such as veterans exemptions, senior deferrals, special assessments and enterprise zone exemptions. It also maintains maps and information on property locations, descriptions and ownership.
