My husband and I ordered takeout:

Lady asked him what he needed, he told her and then went back about her business. 5 minutes pass and another lady comes up and asks if he needed help, he begins to explain and the first lady yells to the 2nd one what he needed..she told her to be quiet so she can hear him and THEN puts the order in the computer. He orders a beer and is drinking it. A third person comes up and asks him if he needed help. You guys don't communicate? The 1st lady randomly says "it shouldn't be too long" to my husband in reference to the order. He says "well, what is long?" As in how much longer am I going to have to be sitting here? She says "your order won't be too long" lol no kidding, we've been there for 20 Minutes! His question clearly goes way over her head. The 2nd lady comes out and asks if he wants another beer...he says depending on how much longer his order will be.. She goes to the back to check and the order is up.

We get home and they were small crab! A dozen baby crabs! Why in the world did this order even take so long?!! They were so small and overcooked that you couldn't even get any meat out. It was mush. The meat that was available was stuck to the shell so you're getting meat and shell completely stuck together. Another indication of overcooked crab. It was gross and fishy tasting. For $30 we could have gotten normal crab Legs.

It's awful you are stealing and defrauding customers. You advertise as medium crab but most if not all of the crabs are smaller than the back of my hand! Get some people who know what they're doing in every aspect of your business...from the person who answers the phone, to your servers, to your cooks, even to the market in which you get your "medium" small crabs... We were so mad and hungry that we actually had to order pizza bc there just wasn't any meat to be eaten and wasted $30 on your pathetic crabs. The pizza got to our house faster than we had to wait for these crabs to cook, by the way.

The ads on the orange tables are funny. Thought statue of guy fishing as you walk in was a real guy. Love the fun beach/fishing environment.

The mahi mahi was delicious!

Cold Bear and good fresh Oysters...Friendly place on Gandy, Great early Bird Specials,Good variety and You must have the Fried Oysters. Good Guy named Tyrone is a manager.

The Crab Shack on Gandy isn't fine dining, but it's some of the finest seafood you can get in the Tampa Bay area. Let's be clear that by "fine" I mean fresh and awesome. You're not going to find plates stacked high with microgreens or decorated with sauce. What you will find is amazing seafood spread (eat it with the saltines, so good), fresh blue crabs (give yourself at least an hour to go at these babies), and fresh, salty oysters. It's been the same for the past couple of decades and it's packed every weekend for a reason. Dress down and be ready to get messy if you want to work for your crab and shrimp.

This is definitely a "shack" but dispite its outside appearence the food here is exteremly good! The crab cakes are melt in your mouth good! The salads are light and crispy. The stew cabbage is to die for. And this is the only place to go to for fresh, tasty seafood!

They have an extensive menu for you to choose from, the food was good and the staff was friendly.
