Female Friendly It Is NOT! This slogan is strange because you are assuming all females do not know mechanical vernacular or cannot research vehicle parts and costs, but all men know auto repair. However, when I told my mother, who had questions about the cost of the parts, I told her that they would be more than happy to help her understand if she gave them a call.The manager, Ben, answered the phone. My mother told him that she had noticed the price of the complete fuel supply line and fuel return line were expensive compared to the research she had done so she could anticipate the overall cost; she is a senior who must budget because she is low income. Signal Garage Auto care charged $310.32 for a fuel supply line and $248.98 for a return line for her 2006 Saturn Ion Lv 2. She had found the complete package, including the fuel filter, to be around $300. She said she had the same happen to her truck last year and it is double the price. He said, “If you could do it yourself, then you wouldnt have come to us. She said she had no problem with the labor costs, taxes, and the initial $39.95 to investigate the fuel leak. She told him we chose you because you had good reviews and that you seemed reliable. I have no problem paying for your experience and workmanship, she just wanted to know why the parts were so expensive. He repeated that if she could do it herself, she should have. She also asked about the $60 clean up fee, which he told her the gas leaked all over. That was false because it had poured out on my way to Regions Hospital and down into the parking lot and when the tow truck came, it was minimally dripping. He said he charged that much environmental cleanup because when they drove it, gas leaked everywhere in the shop. Why would you drive the vehicle when you were told was a major leak so bad that the tank was empty? He continued to make excuses saying all the other places charge extra for services and parts; they were just competing with the market. He told her for the third time, if you could buy the parts cheaper, you should have done it yourself. He said she was lucky that he gave us a military discount.
This place is neither female friendly, elderly friendly, or layman friendly. We do not mind paying extra for quality, but there is no excuse not to explain fees in a patient and professional manner. You will not get any recommendations from us. Had you been more professional you would have had an extended family (with seven vehicles) willing to patron your business.

I had a wonderful experience here att he Signal garage, Daughter had brake problems, they took her car in the day I called and were extremely friendly and helpful with no extra costs added in that were hidden like most garages that work on your car.. Happy and would refer them to any of my friends for any type of car repair...

Super nice auto garage! This garage is clean, the staff treated me very nice, answered my questions and explained everything very clearly. At the end of the day the total bill was lower than the estimate because they found the parts at a lower cost from a different store. My Subaru runs great and I will be back. Lea Davis St Paul

The best auto repair shop I have been to in many years! They listen to me with respect, explain everything in simple English, they dont try to sell me things all the time, the place is always clean, the work is done on time and done right. I recommend signal garage to anyone who wants to get their money worth and a lot more.
