General Info
Duplication/Replication - What's the Difference? Duplicated discs (also called "burned" discs) are the quickest to make and are what we make for same day needs. They are also the most economical for smaller runs of up to a thousand or so discs. Replicated discs take longer to manufacture because there are more steps involved. They are much more economical than duplicated discs in quantities over 1000. We take great pride in creating the best looking-discs available anywhere! Duplicated disc graphics are printed in one of three ways: Photo-Realistic Full Color Thermal Printing: * Durable and beautiful, your color discs will stand out from any others. Great for photographs Monocolor Thermal Printing: * Durable black printing on a white or shiny silver surface. This is the fastest and most economical printing Ink Jet: * Our process uses a lacquer coating and results in a beautiful finish * Replicated discs are either silkscreen or offset printed. We will use the method that will produce the most stunning results, based on your disc design We can use graphics you provide, or we can create a design for you. Every duplication/replication job is unique. Call us (651) 452-0546 for the best solution to your needs. Archival Discs For the longest longevity and stable archival life, we recommend replicated discs. For duplicated discs, we recommend archival gold discs. These discs are made with gold as the reflective layer. Gold will not oxidize over time. The dye used in these discs is more stable and the quality control in manufacture is very tight. While these discs are expensive, for certain applications the cost is worth it.
