NAC WORKER'S BIZARRE and HOSTILE RANT (watch youtube video) - and COMPANY's SILENCE
On 2/12/18, seeking to document jarring construction noise as part of a dispute with landlord Midland Terrace, I brought a camera outside of a room and encountered NAC worker. My first words, captured on video that is posted on youtube: "Hi, sorry to interrupt."
The NAC worker stood from a kneeling position, ten feet away, and immediately approached me and said, "You need to leave," then repeated it several times. His justification: it was a construction zone and only crew members were allowed. Then after a mere 20 seconds, and after I spoke hardly a word, the worker exclaimed, "I will call the cops." He came to only a foot from me and my camera captured a close-up of his uniform, embroidered with "NAC," and of his menacing face. Stunned and fearful that he would attack me or take my camera, I left the room quietly.
The unedited video leaves no doubt: his conduct, towards a complete stranger approaching him politely and from a distance, was unprovoked, hostile - and bizarre. The room, in fact, had routinely been open while the contractor was working.
I sent four e-mails to NAC owner Lynn Bishop expressing my concern and requesting a response. I did get one - from the landlord's lawyer requesting a copy of the video.
Bishop has been silent. The company has been silent.
Most disturbing, I saw the worker back in the building on 2/19 and 2/21. On the latter occasion, I almost bumped into him as we walked in opposite directions on the stairway, and when he turned around in surprise, he glared at me.
In the end, NAC ignored my complaint of hostile worker conduct, with indisputable evidence, then tacitly supported him without so much as a response.
