- Dental ExaminationTo better serve your long-term oral health needs, we begin with a thorough dental examination. This includes an oral cancer screening, periodontal (gum) exam, hard tissue (teeth) exam and appropriate x-rays. You will also be offered a more in-depth oral cancer screening that utilizes chemiluminescent technology. We ask that you arrange for your current x-rays to be transferred to us from your previous dental office prior to your appointment. A thorough cleaning will be performed as well as any specific recommendations regarding products or techniques that may benefit you. If it has been many years since your last dental visit or cleaning, this may take more than one appointment.

- CrownsHaving a root canal (due to a tooth becoming infected or broken badly) results in the tooth structure becoming more brittle as it is a “dead tooth”. A crown is thus recommended after a root canal to protect this brittle tooth structure for long term stability.
