Founded in 2001, Folk School of St. Louis works in renewing and expanding traditional music and the folk arts. Located in Maplewood, Mo., the school offers classes, jams, lessons and workshops for students of all ages. It specializes in all genres of popular music, from rock and pop to modern country. Folk School of St. Louis provides educational programs to promote the learning, teaching, renewal and perpetuation of traditional music and folk arts. The folk school also host and sponsor events, ranging from fund-raisers and showcases to booths and demonstrations.
