Confluence Academy, located in St. Louis, offers classes in grades kindergarten through seven. Founded in 2003, it partners with Edison Schools, which specializes in raising student achievement through its research-based school design, aligned assessment systems, interactive professional development and integrated use of technology. It uses creative problem-solving activities using a variety of methods, such as drama and real world investigative techniques. The teachers coordinate curriculum and resources with the students as the focal point. The core subjects include English language arts, social studies, math and science. Confluence Academy offers a variety of extracurricular activities, including various sports, such as basketball, volleyball and softball.
